Mission
To show the love of Christ to the community by providing not only children and their parents/guardians, but also teachers with health and safety education, as well as, the school items and supplies necessary for a successful school year.

The Neighborhood Back2School Carnival (NBC) is a free community event designed to supply school-age children, ages 5-18, and teachers with a variety of school supplies while providing them with health and safety education through the support of churches, organizations, businesses and corporations.

The NBC will provide an opportunity for not for profit health organizations, community safety officers and organizations and educational facilities to communicate their message to the parents/guardians and children of Avondale and surrounding communities.

The 2008 goals of NBC are as follows:

•To help provide each child with an opportunity to have a safe, healthy start to each school year.

•To provide more than 600 children in the Avondale and surrounding communities with a variety of school supplies and necessities for the school year. In order to qualify, children and parents/guardians must complete the “Obstacle Course of Health and Safety”– free educational activities designed to teach the importance of healthy living (good eating habits), police and fire safety, immunizations and health screenings.
