The Salute to Excellence in Education Award Program was established in 2006 by Project Nehemiah, a 501c3 outreach ministry of the Church of the Living God. Our mission is to honor students and educators in the Greater Cincinnati area-- students for their academic excellence and accomplishments and educators for their years of dedication and commitment to the field of education. We honor students who work hard and strive toward excellence not only in their academics, but also in their character. Because educators are seldom recognized for the daily sacrifices made to educate our children, we also honor those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and who have a passion for educating the children of Greater Cincinnati. The first year of this program was held at the Church of the Living God during regular Sunday morning worship, but
after witnessing the outpouring of support for this effort from the administrators, teachers and staff throughout
Cincinnati, we began to see the greater vision. We knew that it was a necessity that
we honor both students and educators in a manner that would encourage them to
continue striving for excellence and let them know that they are appreciated for For the sake of our children’s future, we should all feel an obligation to show students and educators our appreciation for their efforts. We believe that through this program, our student awardees will take even greater pride in their accomplishments and grow to become strong, successful adults. We also believe that through this effort, our awardees in the field of education, will continue to perform the great work that they have been called to with excitement, commitment and dedication. With the support of faithful contributors, we have made a commitment to continue to build upon this program.
